Dreams of Home is my final thesis project I produced while at RISD.
Consistently throughout my life, I have had recurring dreams that take place in my childhood home. It is so familiar to me, but since my family moved out in 2012, I have never been able to return. Sometimes I drive there and sit at the top of the driveway, reminiscing on having grown up on a pine tree farm in rural Appalachia.
With this deep longing for familiarity, the project explores the concept of home as a place of solace and comfort amidst change.
Ultimately, my thesis is not just about physical structures but about the emotional resonance of place and the journey of rediscovering and reimagining the places that shape our identity and memories.
